Repeat is enabled, in one screenshot. can you explain what the “1” inside the repeat signifies or does?

The same thing as nearly all music players.
It’s repeat one song indefinitely. Normal repeat does the same for the whole playlist.

I couldn’t figure it out because I play a youtube video over and over again (without playlist) and didnt’ see the difference. In my case, there isn’t any.
