FIXED: "Error during synchronization" on old Android

I came here to post a problem, but solved it before I posted. So in case anyone else sees the same error, here is a solution.

I have an OLD android phone. May or may not be the issue.

Jumped in car, bluetooth connects, hit play on phone, and Yatse put up a message box saying “too many errors, read the FAQ.” (or words like that). Music would jump track to track to track… nothing would play.

Later saw a message “Error during synchronization”.

Dumb phone. Swearing as drive had to be all silent. :sob:

Got home, swapped from playing music from phone to playing music from KODI system in house. All is now fine. I hear tunes. Swap back to playing from phone’s SD Card… and up pops the Android “Do you want to give permission for Yatse to access your file?” message box.

Dumb phone had decided to BLOCK Yatse for no reason at all. Of COURSE I want Yatse to have access. Clicked yes and all is well again.

So if you ever see an Android phone jumping track to track and failing to play… just go into the phone App settings and make sure it hasn’t decided to mess with your permission settings.

On a side note - absolutely LOVE the way I can stick a VPN on my phone, connect to home, and stream my KODI media player when outside of the house. Was stunned at how well that worked when I started to try it out.

@Tolriq - you are a genius. Love your work.
