Files -> Videos -> showing Thumbs/Posters

Hi there,

Wanted to ask if there is a way to show posters/thumbs within FILES → VIDEO FILES if the videos are not part of the media library.

I have some private videos (of the kids) and I want to give them a nice thumbnail (so you see at first glance what it is even if you are not able to read :slight_smile: ). I tried two things:

  1. I embedded the thumbnail via MKVToolNix as a Cover via attachments. In windows the thumbnail is correctly displayed (it is shown instead of a random frame in the file explorer).
  2. I added the thumbnail with the same name as the video and also with “
-thumb.jpg” to the same folder as the video.

Both did sadly not work.

Any help appreciated.

Yatse shows what Kodi sends, once Kodi will return the thumbnail it will be visible.
