Any idea to get Yatse's notification more reliable on Android 14?

Issue description:

This is probably an issue with Android rather than Yatse, but I figured I might as well ask. On my old phone, Yatse was very proactive in registering when Kodi was playing media, and usually when I started playing something from another interface than Yatse, there was still a notification from Yatse. The volume buttons also controlled Kodi’s volume, which was very nice.

On my new phone, a Pixel 7 running LineageOS (Android 14), this is a lot less smooth. I need to start Yatse manually to get the notification, and the information (like track title) often lags behind from what’s actually happening.

I assume this is a power saving thing from Android, but I already removed all battery usage restrictions from Yatse following the instructions from dontkillmyapp.com.

Is there anything else I could try for this?

Not much you can do about opening Yatse first even with the proper settings.

But the metadata should work properly once started if all the restrictions are lifted.

Please provide logs reproducing the issue.

When I pause something the notification disappears after about 10 seconds. Is that intended or just how android/Samsung handles thing?
If I pause say YouTube that notification can stay up for days

You will have the exact same answer, check http://dontkillmyapp.com/ to fix Samsung doing nasty stuff.

Then you’ll still probably need to start the app before but once the notification is visible it should stay. If not same I need logs.
